Well Carl, Fence, and Sassymonkey have all done it. Not one to be left out, it’s my turn!
1. What is your favorite work of horror fiction? Hmmm….this is difficult as I do not read much horror fiction. I guess I would say The Historian, as I really enjoyed it last year when I read it (about this time of year too!) and wouldn’t mind reading it again.
2. What is your favorite work of science fiction/fantasy? Now this is hard. I haven’t read much, I wouldn’t think, since I’m new to the genre. I really like Neil Gaiman and Nina Kiriki Hoffman. I also really enjoyed the two books I’ve read by Tamora Pierce. I think I’m going to go with Bill Willingham’s Fables graphic novels/comics. Can’t wait until the new hardback comes out in two weeks! I already have it preordered!
3. Who is your favorite monster? Probably the Mummy. In the few books I’ve read and movies I’ve seen, I really liked the mummy. Very creepy.
4. What horror movie gives you the most chills? I don’t really watch horror/gory type movies, but the one that bothered me the most was Pet Semetary. I forced myself to sit through it to see why everyone seemed to like it so much and I cried through a lot of it. And had nightmares. Very unsettling.
5. Freddy versus Jason? Neither. I just can’t stomach those movies. I have never seen one and don’t plan on ever seeing one.
6. What is your favorite Halloween treat? Candy corn. Nothing else stands a chance. Except maybe those little Snickers bars. And I remember…my grandpa always took me trick-or-treating and he always took me to this older lady’s house (I don’t remember who) and she made the most delicious popcorn balls. Yum.
7. Ghosts or goblins? Ghosts. Goblins are just gross. Ghosts are creepy. They freak this poor soul out.
8. What is your scariest encounter with the paranormal? I can’t say that I have ever had one. Nope. Can’t remember one. My sisters-in-law and hubby have. Their old house is supposedly haunted by a little girl who died there. She liked to play with their toys, turning them off and on, and once turned on the blender when it wasn’t plugged in. And there are strange cold spots in that house. I always get freaked out upstairs, it just feels…weird…up there. My brother-in-law lives there now.
9. Do you believe in ghosts? Not so much in ghosts. In spirits, I would lean yes. That is to say I think spirits can visit us but not hang around like ghosts seem to do. Who knows. Anything is possible.
10. Favorite Halloween costume? I’m rather partial to this naughty librarian!
Isn’t that cool!?!?

I’ve never cared for candy corn but that changed a couple of weeks ago when someone had it at a party mixed with cashew nuts. YUM!

I’ve been nibbling on the candy corn myself lately. Good stuff.
Pet Semetary was an interesting film. I had read the book before seeing it and loved the story..it was soooo creepy. The film didn’t live up to the images I so vividly had in my mind from the book. For years after that I thought the name Gage was a cool boy’s name.
I like that costume myself!
