I almost forgot! Since Amanda at The Blog Jar did it, and I’m not above being a copycat (imitation is the most sincere form of flattery ya know) I will too! Here are 13 classic books I would like read in 2007.
1. The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins
2. Emma by Jane Austen
3. Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
4. David Copperfield by Charles Dickens
5. A Study in Scarlett by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
6. Tess of the D’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy
7. Evelina by Fanny Burney
8. The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
9. Vile Bodies by Evelyn Waugh
10. Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser
11. The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson
12. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
13. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
Only 6, 12 and part of 13 (think I read an abridged version in high school because my new copy is WAY bigger than my old one) would be rereads. Shouldn’t be too hard. Yeah, right! LOL

Eeek! I haven’t read ANY of these (and here I thought I was doing really well on my Classics - sigh). However, I’m glad none of them showed up on my Thursday Thirteen list today. I’ll have to start making a TBR list for next fall when I get back around to the Classics. I’m burned out!

Hey, you’ll have to join us in Jan & Feb when several book bloggers are going to read classics. I’m sponsoring a challenge. If you’re interested check back in Dec for further info. I’m planning to read Woman in White by Collins and maybe, Les Mis.

Well, at least I’ve read one - no, two. Robinson Crusoe is dry but I read it with my son when he was in 4th grade and I homeschooled him. I hated Huck Finn. And, I think I may have read Jekyll and Hyde but I’m not sure if it was the Robert Louis Stevenson or an adaptation. Great list! I need to come up with my own.
